The Position

Do you want to play an active role in our growing Biostatistics and Data Science organization in Ingelheim and build up a global team to drive the development and implementation of optimal Animal Health BDS processes? Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role as Global Head Biostatistics and Data Science, you will lead and oversee biostatistics, statistical programming, data management and data science for preclinical and clinical studies, projects and submissions of the global Animal Health portfolio.

  • You will develop and communicate the vision/mission of the AH BDS (biostatistics and data sciences) platform, drive the development & execution of strategic plans to achieve AH goals, and you will be accountable for their implementation.

  • By means of standardization and harmonization, you will drive the development and implementation of optimal AH BDS processes and steer the outsourcing strategy to increase productivity and quality, while decreasing cycle times and costs.

  • With your global team you are responsible for appropriate design, collection, management, statistical analysis, and reporting of Clinical Study Data and Documentation to support the study data lifecycle (end-to-end).

  • Moreover, you will allocate AH BDS resources to deliver timely and best quality on study and project objectives.

  • Thus, you will contribute to the development of innovative processes and adoption of technologies that ensure the delivery of state-of-the-art statistical analyses and data reporting.

  • You will also establish frameworks to ensure GxP compliance and to provide consistency of the global BDS tasks, especially for statistical plans and analyses.

  • You foster innovative scientific methodologies, strive for lean and consistent processes in BDS and liaise with regulatory agencies as well with academic opinion leaders.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or a similar field (e.g., MSc), PhD preferred

  • Expertise in leading a diverse and high performing BDS team globally, skilled in strategy development and personnel management

  • Excellent skills in understanding data and scientific decision processes that are integral for research, development and achieving regulatory objectives

  • Long-term experience in leading pre-clinical and clinical research and development of animal health or human health products

  • Effective communicator with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to form international networks and experience negotiating externally with CROs, agencies and technology providers

  • Promoting agile working and fostering smart risk-taking principles

  • Self-motivated decision maker with a high degree of initiative, commitment and persistence and evidence of good judgement skills required

  • Ability to recruit, retain, motivate, inspire, and develop diverse talent

  • Excellent English skills
